Australians can now buy kebabs with crypto payments
Origin Kebabs, an Ozzie favorite fast food chain, is now accepting crypto payments for kebabs and other items in its menu. Australia has always been one of the most active countries when it comes to blockchain schemes and development. Accepting cryptocurrencies and incorporating the Lighting Network Origin Kebabs may start a new trend of making payments in crypto at other fast food chain operators.
Origin Kebabs is on its way to rolling out the Bitcoin payment at four Queensland stores which are – Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Westfield Chermside, Broadbeach, and Eagleby. The firm is currently on the testing phase and may provide the alternative method of payment to its consumers across Australia if things will go well with trials. Apart from Bitcoin, Origin Kebabs will also accept Binance Coin (BNB), Ethereum (ETH) and Litecoin (LTC). All the Bitcoin payments will be carried out on Lightning Network which is added advantage for ultra-fast and secure transactions.
Appreciating the incorporation of crypto payments and lighting network, Burhan Goktas, Origin Kebabs General Manager said that “After learning about crypto, I knew I had to make it a part of our business. It’s a no-brainer to sign up with TravelbyBit. I am very excited that Origin Kebabs is going to be the first to adopt BNB payments at the point of sale, following the launch of the new Binance chain.”
Origin Kebabs is also in talks with Coca-Cola for a possible tie-up which might add a lot to the credibility of the whole operation and help the company to utilize the potential of this decentralized system.
Talking about upcoming potential sponsorship with Coca-Cola, he further added that “If we can get someone like Coca-Cola on board it just adds to the credibility of cryptocurrency, we’d encourage other major chains in the country to trial it to help further adoption. Jump on board!”
Announcing the partnership, TravelbyBit, the Australia- based Tourism cryptocurrency-payments startup has labeled the Origin Kebabs as ‘Australian’s first Bitcoin drive-through restaurant.’
